Direction, screenplay, storyboarding, visual development and lead animation

Rollin' Punkis is a musical cli-fi shortfilm born at Linkvids and created by Edu Coll, Silvia Molina, Carlos Blanco, Pep Suriñach and me. It follows five punks that fight with their music against the injustices of a world with no Sun. Check out the first 17 seconds below, featuring animation by me, clean up and ink and paint by Silvia Molina and María Agustí, backgrounds by Edu Coll and motion graphics by Carlos Blanco:

The shortfilm serves as the first music of Rollin' Punkis, the band they create to start making noise and lighting up the revolution. Luckily, we have a banger of a song that will make it easy to start the fire. It was composed by Rodrigo Vigo and Carlos Parrilla with lyrics by Rodrigo Vigo and me. It is the bones, muscle and voice of the the short. After all, punk is the best genre to express the anger, frustation and angst of our characters against a world that has fallen into darkness.

Below, some of the sketches I did of the band while designing the characters alongside Edu Coll:

At the heart of Rollin' Punkis hide two defining feelings for our generation: climate anxiety and losing faith in the future. What started as an excercise to push ourselves has grown into a story beyond what we initially had in mind. Take a look at some of my sketches from the story meetings that went into deciding how to narrow everything we had developed into a 3 minute music video:

At the moment, Silvia Molina, Juan Cermeño and I are animating the shorfilm. Our rhythm is slow but steady, as we are still looking for financing and are only animating in our free time. Also because we want it to look really good, and that takes time! See it for yourselves:

Both the concept and the rough animation teaser above are by me (elevated by the amazing music of Carlos Parrilla). Its some of the material we have been extremely lucky to showcase in events where we have been selected, such as Weird Market 2024, NextLab Generation 2025 or Truxa Muxa 2025.

The journey and feedback have already been amazing and we are certain there are even better roads to discover if we just keep punking and skating. See you ahead!

That's it! Not much left to see here... maybe want to try browsing to another project?

Nice to meet you! My name is Alberto Andrés.

These are some of the projects I have worked on for the last 5 years. Some are work for clients and some are collaborative with friends. Every one of them has led me to develop new skills and to discover new sides of myself, which is scary and exciting at the same time… and also kind of addictive. Oh well! I guess I am in this stuff for life now… I hope I can continue learning and creating the best way I know: surrounded by people. If you want to see more of my work, check rest of this portfolio.

I hope we get to work together sometime!
